Houseplant CTF 2020 [Beginners] category writeup

年始に参加してとても楽しかった RiceTeaCatPanda CTF の派生、Houseplant CTF というのがあったみたいで、archiveが公開されていたのでやってみました。
ぶっちゃけ SECCON CTF 2020 の crypto分野復習中なんですけど、考えるのが 面倒 脳みそパンパンになってきたので易しめのCTFやってヒャッホウしたかったというのが本音です…。

まずはBeginneres分野。1時間くらいでダダっとできる。picoCTF(今はpicoGym)の50~100点問題くらいの難易度で、本当のBeginners向けという感じ。私みたいなただの謎解き好きから入門するにはオススメな感じだった。

うーん、単純なshiftではなさそう。[9,13,5,5] がkeyだとしてずらしてみるとどうなるかな。

うーん、違いそう。key長を1~3くらい伸ばしてみてもそれっぽくならない。短いけど超guessingするやつか?

gsvb_zivは、換字暗号だとするとTsvb_zRv。(変換後が大文字)。 THEY_AREとかにならないかな?

b -> y
z -> a

仮に置き換えてみると fmoEhh_THEY_ARE_nEAm。Eが多くなるのも傾向的にあってそう。
次に気になるのは最遺書の単語の語尾。同じ文字が2つ続いてるので、可能性の有りそうなものを突っ込んでみてcrosswordsolverでふさわしそうな単語がないか確認する。

***ETT, ***ESS あたりがありそう。unless があやしい。入れてみると

f -> u
m -> n
o -> l
h -> s

RTCP{UNLESS_THEY_ARE_nEAN}

となった。あとは意味が通りそうなものをnに突っ込んでみたらflagが通ったのが正解、って感じかな?多分

rtcp{unless_they_are_mean}がflag。

他の方のwriteupを見たところ、Atbash cipher というものらしい。

ここに突っ込んでみると一発だった。

なんと!Alphabet逆順と思えばよかったのか。最初の考察に文字のindexも降ればわかったかもしれない。

i [ 9] -> r [18]  +9
g [ 7] -> t [20]  +13
x [24] -> c [3]   +5
k [11] -> p [16]  +5

こう見ると、index同士を足したら27になっていたことがわかる。
